  • Dr. Gary Chapman

    Although Singing on Grandfather is first and foremost a praise and worship, gospel music festival, a keynote speaker’s notoriety can help set the tone, energy levels, and help attract an audience. With that in mind, we are blessed to announce that Dr. Gary Chapman, famed author of The Five Love Languages will speak on Father’s Day at Singing on Grandfather 2024. Gary is an experienced and well-respected family counselor, and well-known author, having written more than 50 books, He hosts a nationally syndicated radio program (Focus on the Family) which airs on more than 400 radio stations. The Five Love Languages, his most popular title, has been published in more than 50 languages, sold more than 20 million copies and is currently on the New York Times best-seller list.

  • Patricia Smith

    Trish has a huge musical repertoire - excelling in both Southern and Soulful Gospel. She averages over 30 performances yearly including "Singing on Grandfather" at Grandfather Mountain in Linville, NC.

  • Michael Combs

    The Lord has allowed Michael to write and record songs that some call "classics" today. Many are sung in local Churches on any given Sunday. Lots of folks tell him they hear his songs sung at numerous Gospel Music Talent Contests. (What an honor!) His songs are continuously aired on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, as well as other major radio stations around the country. Michael feels the favor of God on him and the ministry God has blessed him with.

  • The King James Boys

    The King James Boys are a gospel bluegrass band based in the upstate of South Carolina. For nearly thirty years they have been presenting the gospel in song. It is the mission of The King James Boys to preserve and promote bluegrass gospel music, while creating an exciting and uplifting performance for old and new listeners alike. In 1994, The King James Boys began singing and playing bluegrass gospel in their home church and soon started traveling outside their local area.

  • Charles Pettee and FolkPsalm

    FolkPsalm formed in 2002 to perform Charles Pettee’s original acoustic folk and bluegrass music settings for the timeless Hebrew poems and prayers from the Book of Psalms. The band is a collective of renowned NC-based acoustic musicians, featuring sweet harmony vocals and exciting musical arrangements. The band’s collected recordings feature some 50 Psalm settings.Founder Charles Pettee is a guitar and mandolin wielding songwriter from Asheville, and a teaching artist/music educator now residing in Chapel Hill, NC. Mandolin and fiddle are masterfully performed by Brevard, NC’s Mark Wingate, which is also home to vocalist/pianist Brittany Whitmire who grew up singing with her Mama in Rosmon, NC. Terry Allebaugh, harmonica master from the hills of Virginia, now serves in Durham, NC working to end homelessness across the Tarheel state. Piedmont upright bass player Robbie Link bows and plucks his bass to round out the group sound with his signature virtuosity. “Something very old, very true is at work here.” (H.M.   • Erica Renee McKinney

    Erica Renee Mckinney, singer/songwriter and recording artist from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. The mountain native deeply respects her mountain heritage and loves music close to her roots. Erica grew up all around rootsy music her whole life but never pursued a career in music until later in life when she decided to close down her very successful hair business of 16 years to pursue a music career. Recording from her in-home studio in 2019 after closing out the hair business earlier that year as an independent artist, she released her first full-length album, “Come Praise the Lord,” in the Christian music genre with her first music video to promote her single “Come Praise The Lord” flying to Fort Worth, TX. With TenFourFilms early 2021 and released the single and album late fall of 2021. The North Carolina native recently recorded in Nashville at “Wei Rock” a new single coming out this fall titled “Overwhelmed.”

  • New Covenant

    The charting Gospel group, New Covenant, formed in 2001, originates out of Wendell, North Carolina. They bring to the stage a blend of Progressive Christian, Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, and Southern Gospel, and they are also known to take their audience through a nostalgic journey of 50’s and 60’s music from time to time. The stage is filled with laughter, energy and a positive message. New Covenant is comprised of Jeremy Gamble, Larry Johnson, Joanna King, and Angela Millenbaugh.

    Praise be to "The Gospel Collective," a divine band formed from heavenly jam sessions over two decades ago. With a repertoire spanning from old-time hymns to contemporary melodies, their stage presence and passion for music draw audiences back time and again. Led by Dave and Jennette Calvert, supported by Patrick McConkey, David Cox, and Randy Buchanan. Through their music, they spread the gospel of harmony and salvation, uniting souls in celestial celebration.
